Mahasamparka - The Grand Connection
'Mahasamparka - The Grand Connection' is the story of two people living in different places and different times, brought together by a strange turn of providence. Ramesh, a rag picker, leads a life devoid of purpose and one of loneliness until one day, when he finds an old Television set. Unable to switch it on after many attempts, he gives up assuming its an old worthless piece of junk. Moments later, the TV comes on by itself and a girl, Lakshmi, is peering through it at Ramesh. It takes Ramesh and Lakshmi a while to realize that their TV's are actually windows into each other's space and time. They begin to converse, Lakshmi assuming that this was meant to happen, since they have nobody in their lives. |

Shot in time-lapse, this 8-minute film divided into three chapters, tells the story of these differing yet equally authentic versions of Barcelona. "Fantasy" - starRo ft BOSCO
Synopsis: Inspired by Total Recall, the video follows the story of Luke, who longs for a life more exciting. The N.O.M.A.D.I.C Corporation’s latest product, Fantasy, is his answer, a drug that brings a person’s wildest fantasies to life (but in reality is a portal to get innocent people to do their bidding). After seeing an ad on TV featuring a beautiful woman, he takes the pill and wakes up into a world of sex and crime as a gangster partaking in a shady deal at a strip club. The woman from the ad is there and leads him into a dangerous encounter. All fantasies become a reality but unbeknownst to him he is a pawn in a larger nefarious scheme. What was the purpose? Was it real or fantasy? Was she? |

Sekar Arum - Forging the Javanese Gamelan
A short documentary about the forging of a Javanese Gamelan gong, highlighting the rhythmic nature of the methods employed by traditional gamelan makers, including the firing, moulding and tuning of a new bronze instrument. In 2016, the master gamelan maker, Pak Saroyo, was commissioned by the Irish World Academy of Music at the University of Limerick to make a full set of gamelan instruments. |

Where are the Stars?
A short film on how light pollution affects the view of the night sky. It shows how the view gets progressively better as the light pollution reduces (from Los Angeles to Great Basin desert). Thanks to darksitefinder.com on finding the locations. Traveling and shooting at every level of light pollution was a challenge. Furthermore, I was mostly alone in some of the locations, which is a bit scary because of the presence of wildlife (bear, mountain lion, snake). Despite the challenge, I was awestruck by the beauty of night sky at very less polluted areas. |

Filmed entirely with a drone (DJI Inspire 2) over 17 days in May/June 2017. |
